Moscow, Russia: Archpriest Victor Potapov is appointed a member of the Authoring Committee for the "Foundations of Orthodox Culture" textbook

By decree of His Holiness, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kyrill, an Authoring Committee and Authoring  Board, tasked with compiling a textbook and teaching materials for a high school academic course, "The Foundations of Orthodox Culture,"  were created on June 29, 2009. His Grace, Bishop Mercury of Zaraysk, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Religious Education and Catechism of the Moscow Patriarchate, was appointed chairman of the  committee. Also appointed to the committee was Eastern American Diocesan Council member Mitred Archpriest Victor Potapov, rector of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC.
