Washington, DC: Alexey T. Zacharin was elected Head Scoutmaster of St. George Pathfinders of America

On Saturday, December 26, upon completion of the All-Night Vigil in St. John the Baptist Cathedral, the Kursk Root Icon visited the home of Alexey T. and Marina I. Zacharin, where a moleben was served before the wonder-working icon, relating to the recent election of Alexey Zacharin to the post of Head Scoutmaster of St. George Pathfinders of America (SGPA). A.T. Zacharin is a longtime counselor of SGPA, and has dedicated his whole life to the service of Russia and the disciplining of Russian youth living here in America, as well as in other countries where SGPA is active. After the moleben, Fr. Serge, who has been serving as the spiritual counselor of SGPA’s "Tsarskoe Selo" chapter, appealed to the newly elected Head Scoutmaster with a call to fulfill his duty with a fear of God, never forgetting that, without God’s blessing, it is impossible to discipline future generations of Russian scouts. He called upon Alexey and Marina to read the prayer "O My Most Gracious Queen" every day, that the Heavenly Queen might cover the Head Scoutmaster and his fellow scouts with Her pure omophorion. Scoutmaster Alexey Zacharin will officially assume his duty as Head Scoutmaster on January 1, 2010. Many years to the servants of God Alexey and Marina!
