Delegates at the Diocesan Meeting of the Eastern American Diocese have elected the Diocesan Council and Auditing Committee

 

On Monday, March 16^th, at the Diocesan Meeting of the Eastern American Diocese, delegates voted by secret ballot for members of the Diocesan Council and Auditing Committee. The results of the election were announced after the Great Compline service:

New Diocesan Council members:
Mitred Archpriest Victor Potapov
Archpriest Serge Lukianov
Archpriest Serafim Gan
Priest John Moses
Priest Nikolai Manduke
Subdeacon George Schatiloff
George N. Nikolsky
Serge R. Lopoukhine

New Auditing Committee members:
Protodeacon Constantine Semyanko
Deacon Leonid Roschko
 Joseph Koller

After the results were announced, the first meeting of the Diocesan Council was held, under the presidency of His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York. The Diocesan Council discussed a series of issues relating to the reorganization of the diocese. The Council also unanimously approved the following measures:

1)       Archpriest Serge Lukianov is appointed Diocesan Secretary.

2)       Priest John Moses is appointed Assistant Secretary.

3)       Priest Nikolai Manduke is appointed Diocesan Treasurer.

4)       Archpriest George Zelenin is appointed President of the Spiritual Court; Archpriest Ilya Gorsky and Archpriest David Straut, Members of the Spiritual Court; and Priest Serge Ledkovsky, the Court’s Secretary.

5)       Mitred Archpriest Alexey Ohotin is appointed Consultant of the Spiritual Court.

6)       A new, official website is to be opened for the Eastern American and New York Diocese, in both Russian and English. Archpriest Serge Lukianov is appointed to oversee the website.

7)       A new diocesan center is to be opened at St. George’s Church in Freewood Acres (Howell), NJ.

8)       A new council is to be appointed to assist Bishop George with the administration of the South; Mitred Archpriest John Townsend, Archpriest Anastasy Yatrelis, Priest John Moses, Priest Stephen Ritter, and Hieromonk Alexander Frizzell are appointed its members.

9)       The Auditing Committee is also tasked with conducting a full financial audit of the diocese and presenting its report to the Diocesan Council at its next meeting on May 4th.

10)   A full audit is to be conducted twice per year.

11)   A new diocesan church music commission is to be opened and will be chaired by Elizabeth A. Ledkovsky.
