Sergiyev Posad: Dean of Holy Trinity Seminary takes part in the Feast Day of the Moscow Theological Schools the Protection of the Mother of God

On October 13, 2009, Protodeacon Vladimir Tsurikov, Dean of Holy Trinity Seminary, arrived at the Holy-Trinity-St.-Sergius Lavra, where he prayed at the All-Night Vigil in the Holy Protection church of the Moscow Theological Academy. The festive services were headed by the Rector of Moscow Theological Schools Archbishop Evgenii of Vereia. Concelebrating were the Rector of the Saint Petersburg Theological Academy Bishop Ambrose of Gatchina, clergy of the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary and present guests, among them the Dean of HTS.

At the official ceremony, which took place after the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Evgenii gave introductory remarks and the annual report about the activities of Moscow Theological Schools over the past year. Following this, Archimandrite Makarius (Veretennikov) presented the keynote address titled “The Patriotic service of the Holy-Trinity-St.-Sergius Lavra during the Time of Trouble”. Fr. Vladimir shared official letters of congratulation from Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of ROCOR, and Archimandrite Luke (Murianka), Rector of HTS, at the festal meal.

During his visit to the Moscow Theological Scools, Protodeacon Vladimir met with several representatives of Holy Trinity Seminary – graduate Aleksei Lemmer, currently studying at the School of Iconography at the Academy, and seminarians Eduardo Volkov and Miodrag Radovanovich, who are currently spending a year at the Moscow Theological Seminary as a part of cooperative program between our seminaries.
