3sts.lg.jpg (55516 bytes)On Sunday, January 17, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God visited Three Saints Church (MP) in Garfield, NJ, for the Divine Liturgy, led by His Grace, Bishop Jerome of Manhattan. His Grace was co-served by rector Archpriest George Konyev, diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Hieromonk Stephen (Bushman; service priest for the Patriarchal parishes), Priest Stephen Kaznica (rector of Sts. Peter & Paul Cathedral in Passaic, NJ – MP), parish Protodeacon Daniel Sudol, and Deacon Dimitri Temidis (cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY). Also praying in church was Archpriest John Nehrebecki (rector of Christ the Savior Church in Paramus, NJ – OCA). A great multitude of the faithful gathered for the Divine Liturgy in order to raise up their prayers to the Most Holy Theotokos before Her wonder-working Kursk Root Icon. After the Liturgy, a luncheon was held in the parish cultural center, followed by a presentation of the photomontage of the Kursk Root Icon’s return to Russia. After the Liturgy, the wonder-working icon left for the Church of the Epiphany in Boston, MA, where it will remain for the great feast of the Epiphany of the Lord.
