Ipswich, MA: The Kursk Root Icon visited the Church of St. John the Russian

On Thursday, January 21, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God, visited the Church of St. John the Russian located in the cozy New England town of Ispwich, MA. The icon was present at the Divine Liturgy, led by parish rector Archpriest Spyridon Schneider, co-served by Priest Thomas Reske. The Liturgy was adorned with the marvelous singing of Hieromonk Innocent (Johnson), which aided the very monastic spirit of the service. Also praying in church was Priest Constantine Newman (rector of Annunciation Greek Church in Newburyport, MA). It is interesting to note the the Divine Liturgy is served daily in the parish. After the Liturgy, an akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos was served, after which the icon departed for St. Xenia’s Church in Methuen.
