Methuen, MA: The Kursk Root Icon visited St. Xenia’s Church

On Thursday evening, January 21, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God visited St. Xenia’s Church in Methuen, MA, where a moleben with akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos was served. The church is situated in a remarkable location, not far from a large river in the middle of a peaceful forest. Abutting the church is Sts. Peter & Paul cemetery, which is maintained by the parish. The service was led by parish rector Archpriest Michael Crowley, co-served by Priest Thomas Reske and parish Deacon Constantine Desrosiers. Also praying in church was Priest Narcis Stoica (rector of Nativity of the Virgin Mary Romanian Church in Chelsea, MA – OCA). The following day, the icon left for the Diocesan center, from whence it will continue its travels throughout our diocese.
