Nyack, NY: The Kursk Root Icon visited Holy Virgin Protection Church

On Saturday, January 16, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God visited Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY. The icon was greeted by rector and longtime diocesan secretary Archpriest George Larin and parish Deacon Dimitri Temidis. The rector then led the All-Night Vigil, co-served by diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Archpriest Victor Tseshkovsky, and Fr. Dimitri, in the presence of a multitude of worshipers. During the polyeleos, an akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos was served, after which Fr. Serge presented the parish with a copy of the Kursk Root Icon on behalf of ROCOR’s First Hierarch in memory of the icon’s visit to Nyack. After the service, a bountiful meal was served in the parish hall, followed by a presentation of the photomontage of the Kursk Root Icon’s visit to Russia.
