Simpson, PA: Metropolitan Hilarion celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Basil the Great Church

On Sunday, January 17, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Basil the Great Church in Simpson, PA. His Eminence was co-served by Archpriest John Sorochka (Mayfield, PA), rector Archpriest David Hritcko, Abbot German (Ciuba – Old Forge, PA) and Protodeacon Gregory Petrochko (Mayfield, PA). During the Sixth Hour, Metropolitan Hilarion tonsured parishioner Gabriel Monforte a reader and Jacob and Noah Fedak were awarded oraria. During the Little Entrance, Fr. David was awarded the miter for his many years of faithful service to the Holy Church. After the Liturgy, a bountiful luncheon was hosted in the parish hall in honor of the First Hierarch’s Archpastoral visit to Simpson.
