The Divine Liturgy was led by the rector, Archpriest John Townsend, co-served by diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Archpriest Steven Ritter (cleric of the church), Priest Nikoloz Chkhikvadze, Protodeacon Leonid Mickle (cleric of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC) and parish deacons Fr. Upon completion of the service, Fr. Serge greeted the rector and parishioners on behalf of the First Hierarch of ROCOR, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, and presented them with a copy of the Kursk Icon. A wonderful and bountiful luncheon was served after the Liturgy in the parish hall, after which the photomontage of the Kursk Icon’s September 2009 return to Russia was presented.
