Daytona Beach, Florida: The Kursk Root Icon visited St. Andrew’s Church

On Wednesday, February 3, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God returned to the east coast of Florida to visit the newly established Mission of St. Andrew the First-Called in the town of Daytona Beach. The faithful, led by their rector, Archpriest Andrey Pastukh, joyously greeted the Heavenly Queen with flowers in front of the church. Archpriest Serge Lukianov (accompanying the icon) and Fr. Andrey then served a moleben with akathist before the wonder-working icon. After the service, Fr. Serge greeted the parishioners on behalf of the First Hierarch of ROCOR, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, presenting the parish with a copy of the Kursk Icon and thanking the rector and his assistants for their holy, missionary labors. In reply, Fr. Andrey could not hold back tears of joy as he thanked the Queen of Heaven and Earth for Her visit to the new parish and the protection She gave the parishioners and faithful under Her pure omophorion. O Most Holy Theotokos, save us!
