The Meeting of Our Lord and Forgiveness Sunday in Holy Cross Monastery

On February 14, Forgiveness Sunday, the Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of the Meeting of the Lord in the Temple (due to the beginning of Great Lent, the service for the feast is carried over to this day from February 15). On Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th, His Grace George, Bishop of Mayfield, led the festal divine services in Holy Cross Monastery. His Grace was co-served by monastery clergy.

On Sunday evening, on the eve of Great Lent, Vladyka served the vespers with the rite of forgiveness. After the vespers, the Right Reverend rector of the monastery addressed the brethren with a sermon, bidding them well as they embarked upon the Great Fast, after which the rite of forgiveness began.
