New York: Metropolitan Hilarion performed a priestly ordination in the Synodal Cathedral

williams.lg.jpg (48919 bytes)On Saturday, February 20, on the day of St. Theodore Tyro, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign. His Eminence was co-served by His Grace Jerome, Bishop of Manhattan, Archimandrite Ioann (Magramm; Synodal cleric), the cathedral’s Senior Priest, Archpriest Andrei Sommer, Archpriest Ilya Gorsky (cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY), Archpriest Chad Williams (rector of St. Alexander Nevsky Church in Richmond, ME), Hieromonk Eutychius (Dovganyuk; Synodal cleric), Protodeacon Nicholas Mokhoff (Synodal cleric), Deacon Eugene Kallaur (cleric of St. Seraphim’s Church in Sea Cliff, NY), and Deacon Matthew Williams. During the Divine Liturgy, the First Hierarch performed the priestly ordination of Deacon Matthew Williams. The newly ordained Priest Matthew is assigned rector of St. Nicholas Church in Endicott, NY. The following day, on the Sunday of Orthodoxy, Fr. Matthew served his first Liturgy in St. Nicholas Church.
