Middlebrook, VA: Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov visited All Saints of North America Church

On Friday, March 5, Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov and Hiermonk Alexander (Frizzell; resident of Holy Cross Monastery) arrived in the town of Middlebrook, VA, where the honored guest was greeted by the parishioners of All Saints of North America Church, and a bountiful dinner was prepared for all in the parish hall.  Also visiting the parish was Fr. Michael Furry (rector of St. Innocent of Alaska Mission in Roanoke, VA – Bulgarian Archdiocese). Upon completion of the luncheon, Fr. Artemy led a spiritual discussion on life in his parish and on the importance of going to confession and Holy Communion often. After the discussion, a tour was given of the parish and the diocesan library, after which parishioners played some traditional American spiritual music for their guest on the guitar, mandolin, and piano.

The following morning, Fr. Artemy and Fr. Alexander left for West Virginia, for Holy Cross Monastery. On the way to the monastery, the travelers enjoyed the picturesque scenery of the Appalachian Mountains. At the monastery, Fr. Artemy was greeted by the abbot, His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield. A tour was then given of the monastery.
