Mayfield: The First Hierarch bestowed awards on several clerics of the Russian Church Abroad

During the Small Entrance of the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts on the last day of the Eastern American Diocesan Pastoral Conference, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, bestowed awards on several cleric of the Russian Church Abroad.

For his dedicated service to God’s Church, Archpriest Oleg Oreshkin was award the right to wear the epigonation (palitsa).

For their dedicated service to God’s Church, the following priests were elevated to the rank of archpriest:

Priest George Johnson – rector of Holy Apostles Church in Beltsville, MD

Priest John Moses – rector of All Saints of North America Church in Middlebrook, VA, and member of the Diocesan Council

Awarded the right to wear the purple skufia was:

Priest Gregoire Legoute – rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Haiti

The First Hierarch also awarded Reader Ivan Zelenin the right to wear the orarion.
