Thomas Sunday in the Eastern American Diocese

thomsun.lg.jpg (53505 bytes)On Thomas Sunday, April 11, litanies for the departed were served in cemeteries across the Eastern American Diocese. His Grace Jerome, Bishop of Manhattan, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the main monastery church of the Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo." His Grace was co-served by the monastery clergy, in the presence of a great multitude of pilgrims and worshipers. After the Liturgy, Vladyka led a procession to the cemetery, were a Litany for the Departed was served.

On Saturday, April 10, Divine Liturgy was served in Washington, DC, in the parish Chapel of the Iveron Montreal Icon of the Mother of God at Rock Creek Cemetery. On Sunday, April 11, Divine Liturgy was served in Jackson, NJ, in the Chapel of St. John the Baptist. The Liturgy was celebrated by chapel rector and diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, co-served by Priest Jonah Campbell and Deacon Leonid Roschko. The priests of the New Jersey Deanery then served litanies at the graves of the departed, including one at the Cossack memorial for all reposed Cossacks. That same day, in Methuen, MA, the Liturgy was served in St. Xenia’s Church by the rector, Priest Michael Crowley, after which litanies were served at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, which is located next to the church.
