Priest Sergei Sokolov and Dowager Grand Duchess Leonida Romanov reposed in the Lord

On May 22, Pentecost Saturday and the feast of the Translation of the Holy Relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Priest Sergei Sokolov, cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York, reposed in the Lord. That same day in Argentina, Archpriest Vladimir Skalon, Senior Priest of the Resurrection Cathedral in Buenos Aires, departed this life. Fr. Sergei’s funeral will take place at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 25, in the Synodal Cathedral, and the burial will be held at Novo-Diveevo on Wednesday, May 26.

On Monday, May 24, in the 96th year of her life, Her Imperial Highness, the Dowager Grand Duchess Leonida Georgievna Bagration-Moukhransky (born October 6 (N.S.), 1914 in Tiflis), the widow of Grand Duke Vladimir Kyrillovich Romanov and mother of Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna Romanov, head of the Imperial House of Russia, reposed in the Lord.
