New York, NY: Bishop Jerome of Manhattan participated in the patronal feast day of St. Nicholas Cathedral

nyc.lg.jpg (90107 bytes)As reported by the official website of the Patriarchal parishes in the USA, on May 22, the feast day of the St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the Administrator of the Patriarchal parishes in the USA, His Eminence Justinian, Archbishop of Naro-Fominsk, co-served by His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Jerome of Manhattan and cathedral clergy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Cathedral. During the Liturgy, His Eminence performed the ordination to the rank of subdeacon of one of the cathedral’s senior altar servers, Leonid A. Panachev.

Upon completion of the Liturgy, the hierarchs performed a lesser blessing of the water and greeted the faithful with the feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the patronal feast day of the cathedral church. In prayerful memory of the feast day Vladyka Justinian distributed small icons of St. Nicholas. The parish feast day concluded with a brotherly luncheon, to which all of the parishioners and the parish’s guests were invited.
