Framingham, MA: The patronal feast day of St. John the Wonderworker Church

fram.lg.jpg (47038 bytes)On Saturday, July 3, on the day of the patronal feast of St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco the Wonderworker, the Divine Liturgy was served in St. John’s  parish in Framingham, MA. The rector, Priest Vadim Pismenny, was co-served by Archpriest Andrei Semyanko (rector of the Church of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple in Stratford, CT) and Constantine Semyanko (cleric of the same), Hieromonk Roman (Krassovsky; cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville), and Deacon Nicholas Olhovsky (cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville). Guests came to pray from neighboring parishes: Presentation Church in Stratford, Holy Epiphany Church in Boston, and St. Seraphim of Sarov Church in Sea Cliff, NY.

The clerics’ joint service and the talented singing of the choir alongside choristers of neighboring churches gave the festal Liturgy a special solemnity.

Upon completion of the Liturgy, a procession was held by all those present around the church to the peal of bells. After the service, all were invited to a festal luncheon. In the opinion of many guests and parishioners, this, the parish’s third annual patronal feast day, made a deep impression on all in attendance and will remain in the hearts of the participants, many of whom expressed their desire to honor the memory of St. John next year, as well.
