CT: Metropolitan Hilarion celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church
of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple
On
the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the First Hierarch of
the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of
Eastern America and New York, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church
of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple in Stratford, CT. His
Eminence was co-served by parish rector Archpriest Andrei Semyanko,
Archpriest George Lardas (rector of St. Nicholas Church in Stratford,
CT), Archpriest Theodore Shevzov (cleric of St. Nicholas Church in
Stratford, CT), Priest Vadim Pismenny (rector of St. John the
Wonderworker Church in Framingham, MA), Priest Brendan Crowley (rector
of St. Nicholas Church in Springfield, MA), Protodeacon Constantine
Semyanko (parish cleric), and Deacon Nicholas Olhovsky (cleric of Holy
Trinity Monastery).
During
the Small Entrance, in accordance with the resolution of the Holy
Synod of ROCOR, the First Hierarch awarded Archpriest Andrei Semyanko
the right to wear a second cross. Metropolitan Hilarion also ordained
Protodeacon Constantine Semyanko to the priesthood, immediately
awarding him the nabedrennik.
After
the Liturgy, His Eminence performed the rite of the blessing of the
fruits, after which a luncheon was offered in the parish hall.
