New York, NY: Bishop Jerome led the divine services in the Synodal cathedral on the feast of the Dormition

bjdrmtn.lg.jpg (54074 bytes)On August 27-29, divine services for the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos were served in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign, reports the cathedral’s official website. The All-Night Vigil on August 27 and the Divine Liturgy on August 28 were led by Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, vicar bishop of the Eastern American Diocese. During the Small Entrance, in accordance with the resolution of the ROCOR Synod of Bishops, Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis was awarded the right to wear the kamilavka. 

The cathedral rector, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the day of the feast in Holy Dormition Convent at "Novo-Diveevo," and on August 29 – the feast of the Translation of the Image "Not-Made-By-Hands" of our Lord Jesus Christ from Edessa to Constantinople – in Manhattan’s Synodal Cathedral of the Sign. His Eminence was co-served by His Grace, Jerome, and the cathedral clergy. The divine services on the festal days were conducted under the aegis of the Guide of the Russian Diaspora – the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God.
