Lakewood, NJ: Metropolitan Hilarion led the divine services in St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

lkwd.lg.jpg (72409 bytes)On Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th of September, on the feast of the Translation of the Relics of the Holy Right-Believing Great Prince Alexander Nevsky, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York, led the divine services in St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Lakewood, NJ, on the occasion of the parish’s patronal feast day. His Eminence was co-served by clergy of surrounding parishes, in the presence of a multitude of the faithful. The wonder-working, myrrh-streaming icon of the Mother of God, the "Softener of Evil Hearts," was present during the All-Night Vigil.

During the Small Entrance, Metropolitan Hilarion awarded the right to wear the kamilavka to cathedral cleric Priest Seraphim Chemodakov.

Also participating in the festal Liturgy were scouts from the St. Alexander Nevsky Division of St. George Pathfinders of America (SGPA), who accompanied the First Hierarch during the procession.

After the Liturgy, a bountiful luncheon was organized by the sisterhood in the parish hall.
