New York, NY: A Message from the Office of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad

stvlad.lg.jpg (38595 bytes)On November 12-14, Three Hierarchs Church at St Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in Yonkers, NY, will offer a rare relic for veneration by Orthodox believers: a portion of the relics of the Right-Believing Holy Prince Vladimir, Equal-of-the-Apostles, Enlightener of Russia, which will be brought from Kiev, the "Mother of Russian Cities." In connection with this, parish and community rectors of the First, Second, and Third Deaneries of the Diocese of Eastern America and New York and its clergymen are given a blessing to make a pilgrimage to this relic for prayerful veneration. Let us pray to our common godfather that the Lord "keep us in His sanctification, confirm us in the Orthodox faith, deliver us from the evil one, and from all his workings" (from the Rite of Baptism). Pray for yourselves, for those dear to you, for the young generation, for the healing of the sick, for our Holy Mother – the Russian Orthodox Church, that the Lord help us not forget our Holy Russian roots and live according to the ideals of our ancestors. Let this help us once more spark interest in our most wealthy history and righteous legacy of the God-preserved peoples of our historic Homeland, and strengthen and renew our inner powers!

+ HILARION,
Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York,
First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad
