elzbth.lg.jpg (68828 bytes)On Saturday, November 6, with the blessing of His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York, the myrrh-streaming Hawaiian-Iveron Icon of the Mother of God visited St. George’s Serbian Church in Elizabeth, NJ. The icon was accompanied by its guardian, Reader Nektary Yangston.

Before the start of Divine Liturgy, the icon was greeted in procession by the parishioners, led by rector Archpriest Zoran Radovic. Fr. Zoran then celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by Priest Jonah Campbell (cleric of St. George’s Church in Howell, NJ), Priest Bosko Stojanovic (cleric, Serbian Patriarchate), and Deacon Leonid Roschko (cleric of St. George’s Church in Howell). Upon completion of the Liturgy, in honor of the Memorial Saturday of St. Demetrius, a universal panihida was served for all of the reposed parishioners, benefactors, and their relatives, after which an akathist to the Iveron Mother of God was served in Serbian and English; after the akathist, all those present came up to be anointed with the icon’s holy myrrh.
