Jordanville: Metropolitan Hilarion led the divine services in Holy Trinity Monastery on the feast of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos

As reported by the official site of Holy Trinity Seminary, on Friday, December 3, on the eve of the feast of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, visited Holy Trinity Monastery, and presided over the festive services. He was joined by His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield. In the evening, the All-Night Vigil was served according to hierarchal rite.

The following morning, on December 4, the Metropolitan, co-served by Bishop George and monastery clergy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy, which was marked by three important events. During the reading of the Sixth Hour, Metropolitan Hilarion tonsured novice Georgii Kaplanov, a graduate of Holy Trinity Seminary, to the rank of reader. Metropolitan Hilarion also performed two ordinations – Deacon Sergio Silva, also a graduate of Holy Trinity Seminary, was ordained to the Holy Priesthood, and Subdeacon David Kingborn was ordained to the diaconate.

Metropolitan Hilarion gave a sermon on the memorable event of the Entry of the Theotokos into the Temple, mentioning the spiritual deed to which She devoted Herself with readines for the sake of serving God. At the end of the sermon, Metropolitan Hilarion wished God' help to all the newly ordained in their service to Christ's Church.
