Boston, MA: Bishop Jerome celebrated Divine Liturgy and performed the Rite of Holy Unction in Holy Epiphany Church

On Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th of April, the Sunday of St. Mary of Egypt, His Grace Jerome, Bishop of Manhattan, carried out his yearly archpastoral Great Lenten visit to Holy Epiphany Church. Co-serving His Grace during the All-Night Vigil on Saturday night were parish rector Archpriest Victor Boldewskul, Priest Thomas Reske (parish cleric), Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis (cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY), parish clerics Protodeacon Alexander Jarostchuk and Deacon Victor Ganson, and Deacon Alexander Dookhovskoy (cleric of St. Xenia’s Church in Methuen, MA). After the Vigil, His Grace dined at the rector’s home, along with Pelagia McLellan, the mother of the ever-memorable Archimandrite Joasaph, one-time Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem. The guests shared their memories of Fr. Joasaph, recalling his love for the Holy Land and the Mission.

On Sunday morning, Priest Constantine Desrosiers (cleric of St. Xenia’s Church in Methuen), joined the above-mentioned clergy for Divine Liturgy. Bishop Jerome gave an erudite and edifying sermon in Russian and in English. After the Liturgy, the members of the Sisterhood had a meal prepared. On Sunday night, Bishop Jerome led the Rite of Holy Unction in Holy Epiphany Church. Co-serving his Grace were all the local rectors of the four Greater Boston area ROCOR parishes: Archpriest Victor Boldewskul, Archpriest Spyridon Schneider (rector of St. John the Russian Church in Ipswich), Archpriest Michael Crowley (rector of St. Xenia’s Church in Methuen), and Priest Vadim Pismenny (rector of St. John the Wonderworker Church in Framingham). Also serving were Fr. Thomas Reske and Fr. Constantine Desrosiers.
