Bishop Jerome celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Passaic and performed the Sacrament of Holy Unction in Paterson

 

On Sunday, April 3, the Sunday of St. John Climacus, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, celebrated the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great in Sts. Cosmas and Damian Church in Passaic, NJ. His Grace was co-served by rector Priest Dmitri Don, Archpriest Ilya Gun, Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis (cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack), and parish Deacon Vladimir Oliynyk.

 

During the Small Entrance, Bishop Jerome awarded Fr. Dmitri Don the right to wear the nabedrennik and purple skufia. In addition, His Grace awarded Fr. Vladimir Oliynyk the right to wear the double orarion. After the Eucharistic Canon, His Grace ordained Subdeacon John Tokarick to the diaconate. Fr. John is assigned to the Eastern American Diocese. After the Liturgy, a bountiful luncheon was served in the parish hall.

 

On Sunday evening, a multitude of parishioners and the faithful gathered in St. Michael's Church in Paterson for the Sacrament of Holy Unction. Bishop Jerome led the Rite of Unction, co-served by parish rector Archpriest George Zelenin, Archpriest Mark Burachek (rector of Kazan Mother of God Church in Newark, NJ), Archpriest Ilya Gun, Priest Dimitri Don, and Deacon Vladimir Oliynyk.
