Nanuet, NY: Bishop Jerome led the minor patronal feast day of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo"

On Sunday, July 31, and Monday, August 1, on the feast of the Finding of the Relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov and on the occasion of the minor patronal feast day, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, led the divine services in Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo."

At the divine services, His Grace was co-served by the convent’s senior cleric, Archpriest Alexander Fedorowski, Archpriest George Zelenin (rector of St. Michael’s Church in Paterson, NJ), Hieromonk Eutychius (Dovganyuk), Priest Dmitri Don (rector of Sts. Cosmas & Damian Church in Passaic, NJ), Protodeacon Sergei Arlievsky (convent cleric), Hierodeacon Panteleimon (Jigalin; cleric of the Australian Diocese). During the Divine Liturgy, Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis (cleric of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY) joined the serving clergy.

During the Vigil and before the Divine Liturgy, an akathist to St. Seraphim, Wonderworker of Sarov, was read. Prior to the greeting of His Grace on Monday morning, the Lesser Blessing of the Water was performed.

Upon completion of the Liturgy, a moleben was served in St. Seraphim’s Church (the second church on convent grounds), after which a bountiful festal was served in the convent refectory. The guests stayed on the grounds for a while afterwards, visiting the bookstore and enjoying the quiet and prayerful atmosphere offered by the cemetery.
