Brick, NJ: Bishop Michael of New York served a moleben before the Kursk Root Icon in Holy Annunciation Church

On Friday, February 4, His Grace Michael, Bishop of New York and New Jersey (OCA), served a moleben before the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God in Holy Annunciation Church in Brick, NJ. His Grace was co-served by New Jersey Dean (OCA) Archpriest Samuel Kedala, Eastern American Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, parish rector Archpriest Joseph Breton, and a multitude of local clergy.

After the moleben, Bishop Michael addressed worshipers with an archpastoral homily. Fr. Serge then presented the rector with a copy of the Kursk Root Icon on behalf of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion. After the service, tea and dessert were offered in the parish hall, during which a photomontage of the Icon’s return to Russia in 2009 was presented.
