Tarpon Springs, FL: The Kursk Root Icon visited St. Nicholas Greek Cathedral

On Friday, February 18, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God visited St. Nicholas Greek Cathedral in Tarpon Springs, FL. The cathedral was filled with worshipers, who came to lift up their prayers to the Most Holy Theotokos. Cathedral rector Archpriest Michael Eaccarino led a paraclesis in the cathedral, co-served by Eastern American Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, who was accompanying the Icon, parish clerics, and clerics from neighboring parishes.

Upon completion of the moleben, Fr. Serge delivered a sermon on the history, travels, and miracles of the wonderworking Icon, and presented the rector with a copy of the Kursk Icon – a blessing from Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad. The Icon then visited several sick parishioners in the local hospital.
