Hartford, CT: Bishop Jerome celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. Panteleimon’s Church

On Sunday, January 16, St. Panteleimon’s Church in Hartford, CT celebrated the feast day of St. Seraphim of Sarov. Last year, during the fifth week of Great Lent, during the reading of the Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete, parishioners noticed oil streaming from the icon of St. Seraphim of Sarov, which is mounted on the iconostasis, and from the Crucifix at the commemorative table. Metropolitan Hilarion gave his blessing to honor St. Seraphim as the second patron of the parish.

His Grace Jerome, Bishop of Manhattan, arrived, accompanied by Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis. The parish rector, Priest Dionysy Nalitov, welcomed His Grace and the service began. Praying in church during the Liturgy was Archpriest Theodore Shevzov (cleric of St. Nicholas Church in Stratford, CT). The service was very festive, the church full. The choir, under the direction of Nicholas Semyanko, sang harmoniously. Bishop Jerome delivered an enriching sermon, and after the service everyone was invited to a delicious meal and the parish Yolka which, attended by many children, proceeded merrily and boisterously.
