Jackson, NJ: The 51st anniversary of the repose of Archbishop Vitaly (Maximenko)

On Monday evening, March 21, on the 51st anniversary of the repose of the ever-memorable Archbishop Vitaly (Maximenko), a panihida was served in St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ, at the tomb of the departed hierarch. Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov served the panihida, co-served by the deputy rector of the memorial church, Priest Serge Ledkovsky, Priest Jonah Campbell (cleric of St. George’s Church in Howell, NJ), and parish Deacon Paul Drozdowski.

Archbishop Vitaly was one of the preeminent archpastors of our diocese, and the founder of Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary in Jordanville. Readers are welcome to acquaint themselves with the life of Archbishop Vitaly as examined in a biographical sketch by Deacon Andrei Psarev, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of his repose. May the Lord God grant rest to the bright soul of the ever-memorable Vitaly, Archbishop of Eastern America and Jersey City.
