Atlanta, GA: Archpastoral Visit of Bishop Jerome to the Church of our Lady, "Joy of All Who Sorrow"

On Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of March, the Sunday of St. Gregory Palamas, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, performed an archpastoral to the Church of our Lady, "Joy of All Who Sorrow," in Atlanta, GA. On Saturday night, Bishop Jerome led the All-Night Vigil, co-served by parish clerics: rector Archpriest Alexis Duncan and Priest Eugene Antonov, as well as Deacon Vasil Balbay (cleric of St. Matrona of Moscow Mission in North Miami, FL). After Vigil, a reception was held for His Grace at the home of the rector.

The following morning, Bishop Jerome celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by the above-mentioned clergy. During the Sixth Hour, His Grace ordained parish Reader Anton Kouznetsov a subdeacon, and awarded Readers John Donne and Michael Cherry the right to wear the orarion. After the Eucharistic Canon, Subdeacon Anton was ordained to the diaconate. The newly ordained Deacon Anton will fulfill his service at Joy of All Who Sorrow Church. In his sermon, Bishop Jerome spoke on various elements of the Orthodox faith and on the life of St. Gregory Palamas.
