Paterson, NJ:
Bishop Jerome led the Sacrament of Holy Unction in St. Michael’s Church

On April 1, the Sunday of St. Mary of Egypt, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, performed an archpastoral visit to St. Michael the Archangel Church in Paterson, NJ. On Sunday morning, His Grace celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City. That evening, he traveled that evening to St. Michael’s Church, accompanied by Deacon Nathan Mousselli, to perform the Sacrament of Holy Unction.

Clergy from local parishes joined Bishop Jerome for the Holy Unction service: Archpriest Mark Burachek (rector of Our Lady of Kazan Church in Newark, NJ), parish rector Archpriest George Zelenin, Priest Vadim Arefiev (rector of the Church of our Lady "The Inexhaustible Chalice" in Brooklyn, NY), Protodeacon Sergei Arlievsky (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo"), and Fr. Nathan.

The service was followed by an abundant Lenten supper prepared by the sisterhood, during which Fr. George gave an interesting talk about the Sacrament of Holy Unction.
