New Services Available at the Diocesan Library

In an effort to better serve the clergy and faithful of the Eastern American Diocese, the administration of the Diocesan Library (located at All Saints of North America Church in Middlebrook, VA) has made several important changes to its website and services offered.

A new page, "Library News," has been added to the website. It is here that library patrons can read up on new additions to the site’s features, including access to updated bibliographies, which will point them in the direction of new sources for research and general edification. Bibliographies and more are available on the site’s "Downloads" page. The bibliographies available on the site cover many topics of interest to clergy and others active in the Church.

The Diocesan Library has also published the first edition of "Orthodox Literature in Review," a database of over 4,000 citations to book reviews that have appeared on Orthodox publications. The database, available on the Library’s home page, gives users the locations of various reviews of Orthodox literature. The Diocesan Library has copies of many of the journals contained in this database, and database users are encouraged to contact the Library first if copies of the review are needed. The Library staff is happy to provide a photocopy of the review upon request. The database is updated frequently, as new book reviews appear in the literature. It can also be found on the website under "Downloads," then "Indices."

The clergy and faithful are encouraged to take advantage of any and all of the services the Diocesan Library has to offer.
