Coronado, Costa Rica: Archpriest Daniel McKenzie visited Our Lady of Vladimir Mission

On Friday, January 20, the rector of St. Vladimir’s Church in Miami, FL, Archpriest Daniel McKenzie, flew to Costa Rica with Matushka Sophia to serve at Our Lady of Vladimir Mission, founded by Fr. Daniel 18 years ago.

On Saturday, January 21, Fr. Daniel baptized two infants, Demetrio and Nina, and served Vigil that evening in the house chapel of the reposed Priest Rodion Aragon (+2009). The following Sunday morning, on the feat of St. Philip, Metropolitan of Moscow, 70 of the faithful gathered for the Divine Liturgy, and virtually everyone communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries. After the Liturgy, Fr. Daniel performed the rite of the Great Blessing of the Water, and that evening confessed and communed ailing parishioner Valentina Ivanovna Kacherzhinsky in her home.

On Monday morning, with heartfelt gratitude, parishioners bade farewell to Fr. Daniel and Matushka, and expressed their hope to see each other again soon in Costa Rica.
