Wayne, WV: On the Feast of the Nativity of the Lord, Bishop George led the Divine Services in Holy Cross Monastery

On Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of January, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop George of Mayfield, led the divine services in Holy Cross Monastery in Wayne, West Virginia. His Grace was co-served by the monastery’s deputy abbot, Abbot Seraphim (Voepel), and monastery clergy. After Nativity services on Friday night, the servant of God Isaac was admitted as the monastery’s newest novice.

Upon completion of the Nativity Liturgy on Saturday morning, the monks visited the neighboring parish of Christ the Savior, where a festal luncheon was prepared. Parish rector Priest Jonah Campbell and parishioners congratulated His Grace and the brotherhood with the joyous feast, and everyone joined together for the singing of Christmas carols.
