Metropolitan Pavel of Ryazan and Mikhailov will visit the U.S. to take part in the Pastoral Conference

With the blessing of His Holiness Kyrill, Patriarch of Moscow & All Russia, an official delegation from Moscow will be present at the joint pastoral conference of clergy from the Eastern American Diocese and the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA to be held October 11-13. The delegation will be led by His Eminence Pavel, Metropolitan of Ryazan and Mikhailov, who will assume the duty of official representative of His Holiness at the pastoral conference.

This will not be Metropolitan Pavel’s first time in the United States. He is very well known to clergy in America’s Patriarchal Parishes. From 1992 to 1999, in a period when the Church Abroad was not in communion with the Moscow Patriarchate, he occupied the post of Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA.

Metropolitan Pavel will be the guest of the current Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes, His Eminence Justinian, Archbishop of Naro-Fominsk. Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov; Senior Secretary of the Patriarchal Council on Culture and Abbot of Moscow’s Sretensky Monastery), Archpriest Alexey Olhovnikov (rector of the Ryazan Diocesan Metochion Church of St. Nicholas in Yamskaya Sloboda), Igumen Pavel (Scherbachev; cleric of Sretensky Monastery), and Abbess Eugenia (Sviridovskaya; rectress of the Ryazan Diocesan Metochion Church of St. John of Kronstadt) will likewise take part in the delegation.
