Jordanville: Renovations continue in Holy Trinity Monastery

Desperately needed renovations continue at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY. The first phase of repairs involved updating electrical work throughout the monastery. The second phase is now in motion, and is focused on the monastery’s main building: rewiring each floor by disabling old electrical panels and connecting everything to new panels, followed by beginning the difficult task of running new wires to each room. The brotherhood has also begun doing exterior stucco work repairs on the main Holy Trinity Cathedral, as well as on the Dormition Chapel in the cemetery. This was especially necessary as, over the years, the old stucco had begun to crumble.

Exterior repair work, especially on the rooves, is already in progress for the main monastery garages, which over the years have begun to decay in many areas, forcing the monastery to close the outdoor restrooms due to leakage. The kitchen project, which will required gutting the current kitchen and doubling it in size, is in its final planning stage, which the monks hope to complete by the end of the year. The septic system is also in need of replacing. Pictures of the repairs are available to our readers below.

Repairs are very costly, and the monks humbly ask your continued prayers and, whenever possible, financial support. Please consider making a contribution to restoring and saving our "Diasporan Lavra" – Holy Trinity Monastery.
