Jordanville, NY: A Clarification regarding the erroneous article claiming Holy Trinity Monastery does not commemorate the American Authorities

In an article dated February 11 (in the English version; February 8 in the Russian), 2013, Interfax Information Group wrote, "Monks of the Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville (USA) – the spiritual center of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia – do not pray for American authorities at Liturgies."

The monastery’s abbot, Archimandrite Luke (Murianka), has rebutted the information as erroneous, and clarified that the civil authorities are always commemorated at the monastery:

"At the monastery, at all the petitions in the services and at the Proskomedia,  the authorities and armed forces are commemorated, as anyone who visits can attest."
