Jordanville, NY: Metropolitan Hilarion led Holy Trinity Seminary’s Patronal Feast Day

On Tuesday, February 12, on the feast day of the Three Holy Hierarchs – Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom the faculty and students of Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, NY, celebrated their patronal feast day.

On Tuesday morning, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by monastery and visiting clergy. The Liturgy was held in the presence of the Protectress of the Russian Diaspora, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. During the Sixth Hour, Metropolitan Hilarion ordained seminarian Peter Markevich a subdeacon, and then tonsured seminarian John Martin a reader.

After the Liturgy, a festal gathering was held in the seminary hall, during which speeches were delivered by the Metropolitan, seminary rector Archimandrite Luke (Murianka), Protopresbyter George Dragas (professor at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, MA), and seminary professor Archpriest Vladimir Tsurikov.
