Jackson, NJ: St. Vladimir’s Ball set to begin the Celebration of the 1025th Anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’

St. Vladimir’s Day Celebrations on July 26-28 will begin with a grand ball on Friday, July 26. In years past, there has been a tradition of organizing various social events during St. Vladimir’s weekend to give the faithful an opportunity to meet outside of the services. Although this tradition has ceased in recent years, the Diocese is trying to revive it and raise awareness of the importance of celebrating St. Vladimir’s Day together.

With the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, St. Vladimir’s Ball is being hosted by the Eastern American Diocese and St. Nicholas Foundation. The ball will be held in the Rodina Russian House, located next to St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Howell, NJ, approximately 20 minutes from St. Vladimir Memorial Church. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by Alex Juskin’s Kalinka Orchestra and guests are encouraged to arrive in black tie attire. Doors open at 8:00 PM.

Ticket costs are $75 per person and $60 for students until July 12, when an additional $20 fee will be charged for each ticket. Click here to purchase your tickets online at www.vladball.eventbrite.com. All proceeds will benefit the Eastern American Diocese to cover the costs of organizing the 2013 Diocesan St. Vladimir’s Day Celebrations.
