Jordanville, NY: On Holy Spirit Day, Metropolitan Hilarion celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity Monastery

On Monday, June 24, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, paid an Archpastoral visit to Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, to celebrate the Divine Liturgy on the feast day of the Holy Spirit. It has become monastery custom to celebrate its patronal feast commonly on the day following Holy Pentecost (inasmuch as it is very difficult for pilgrims and clergy to leave their own parishes on the great feast itself).

The First Hierarch was co-served by monastery clergy, led by the abbot, Archimandrite Luke (Murianka), as well as visiting clergy. During the Little Entrance, Metropolitan Hilarion awarded Hieromonk Moises (Borges; monastery cleric) the nabedrennik. Upon completion of the service, a procession was held around Holy Trinity Cathedral.

After the festal luncheon, a reception for guests was held in Fr. Luke’s office.
