Jordanville: Holy Trinity Seminary celebrates Patronal Feast of the Three Hierarchs

On Tuesday the 11th and Wednesday the 12th of February, the faculty and students of Holy Trinity Seminary, along with the brethren of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, celebrated the feast of their heavenly intercessors and stalwarts of theological study, the Holy Three Universal Teachers and Hierarchs: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom.

Divine services were led by the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, co-served by His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah (former Primate of the Orthodox Church in America), and His Eminence Gabriel, Archbishop of Montreal & Canada. Both Metropolitan Hilarion (1972) and Archbishop Gabriel (1984) are graduates of Holy Trinity Seminary. The hierarchs were co-served by monastery and visiting clergy.

During the feast, the seminarians and faithful were guarded under the precious omophorion of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God – Protectress of the Russian Diaspora.

Following the Divine Liturgy and a light breakfast, everyone gathered in the seminary hall for a ceremony to mark the feast, during which lectures were read, congratulatory remarks delivered, and words of thanks spoken.
