Coconut Creek, FL: Metropolitan Hilarion leads Patronal Feast Day of St. Luke’s Mission

Wednesday, June 11, the feast day of the Holy Hierarch Luke, Confessor of Simferopol, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, visited St. Luke the Blessed Surgeon Mission in Coconut Creek, FL. In greeting the First Hierarch, parish rector Priest Demetrio Romeo expressed his sincere thanks for His Eminence’s Archpastoral love and care. Metropolitan Hilarion was co-serving by Florida dean Archimandrite Alexander (Belya), Archpriest Daniel McKenzie (rector of St. Vladimir Church in Miami), Archpriest Ioann Voloshchuk (cleric of the Serbian Church), Archpriest Peter Jackson (rector of Holy Apostles Mission Church in Miami), Fr. Demetrio, and Hieromonk Tikhon (Gayfudinov; cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign, accompanying the Metropolitan).

Upon completion of the service, His Eminence delivered a short sermon, and greeted the parishioners of St. Luke’s Church, as well as the students, teachers, and parents of Paideia Classical Academy on the occasion of their patronal feast. His Eminence congratulated and thanked Fr. Demetrio for his dedication and hard work in the church and school.

Metropolitan Hilarion attended the last day of school at Paideia Academy, and congratulated all of the students, families, teachers, and administrators on a very successful 2013-2014 school year. Many parents and families expressed their heartfelt thanks to His Eminence for his visit and Archpastoral guidance. An organic luncheon and the Academy’s awards ceremony followed in the grand hall.
