San Francisco: XIII All-Diasporan Youth Conference Begins with Moleben to St. John of Shanghai

On Thursday, June 27, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, led a moleben to the Holy Hierarch John of Shanghai & San Francisco in Joy of All Who Sorrow Cathedral in San Francisco, CA. His Eminence was co-served by a multitude of clergy from the across the dioceses of ROCOR; taking part in the moleben were Eastern American Diocesan clerics Archimandrite Nicholas (Olhovsky; guardian of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God, elected Bishop of Manhattan), Archpriest Alexandre Antchoutine (rector of Holy Virgin Intercession Church in Glen Cove, NY), Hieromonk Tikhon (Gayfudinov; cleric of the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City, accompanying the First Hierarch), and Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis (cleric of Protection of the Mother of God Church in Nyack, NY).

Also praying at the akathist were Bishop George of Mayfield, vicar of the Eastern American Diocese, and hierarchs of the Russian Church Abroad taking part in the Council of Bishops and the celebrations in honor of the glorification of St. John. Among the participants and guests at the Conference are Bishop Panteleimon of Orekhovo-Zuevo, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Charity & Social Ministry (MP), and Bishop Jonah of Obukhov, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs (UOC-MP). Orthodox youth from 16 countries around the world have gathered for the conference.
