Jackson, NJ: Annual St. Vladimir’s Day Celebrations to take place at St. Vladimir Memorial Church

With the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, the annual St. Vladimir’s Day Celebrations will be held in St. Vladimir Memorial Church to the Millennium of the Baptism of Rus’ in Jackson, NJ on July 26-28. The actual feast day of St. Vladimir is celebrated on July 28th, but as is customary in the Eastern American Diocese, a national celebration is held on the weekend closest to the feast. Last year, over 1,500 clergy and faithful gathered at the Memorial Church to celebrate the 1025th Anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’. The organizers of this year’s celebration are expecting hundreds of pilgrims to once again gather in Jackson to celebrate the memory of the Baptizer of Rus’ – the Equal-of-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir of Kiev.

Metropolitan Hilarion will lead the divine services on July 26-27, and will be co-served by diocesan vicar bishops and other guest hierarchs. A joint choir of singers is once again being assembled to sing the services under the direction of Deacon Alexander Petrovsky. Those who are interested in joining the choir should contact Fr. Alexander directly by phone at (216) 571-4084 or e-mail at kamerton1975@gmail.com.
