New York City: Joint Hierarchal Liturgy celebrated in Synodal Cathedral

On June 1, the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York, led a joint hierarchal Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City. Concelebrating with His Eminence were Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada and Bishop Jerome.

Co-serving Their Eminences and His Grace were Synodal and visiting clergy: Archimandrite Nicholas (Olhovsky), Archpriest Andrei Sommer (senior priest of the cathedral), Archpriest Nicholas Florinsky (cleric of the Moscow Patriarchate in Moldova), Hieromonk Tikhon (Gayfudinov), Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff, Protodeacon Dimitri (cleric of the Moscow Patriarchate), and Deacons Nathan Mousselli and Nazari Fataliev.

Upon conclusion of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Hilarion delivered a sermon on the significance of the feast of our Lord’s Ascension.

After the service, a luncheon was served in the cathedral hall, followed by a concert performed by a group of Orthodox youth.
