Howell, NJ: Event Schedule for Metropolitan Hilarion’s 30th Anniversary

On November 14-15, 2014, a celebration will be held at the St. Alexander Nevsky Diocesan Cathedral in Howell, NJ, in honor of the 30th anniversary of Metropolitan Hilarion’s episcopal consecration and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Eastern American Diocese. All Orthodox clergy and faithful are invited to participate in this joyous celebration, which will take place in the presence of the Kursk Root and myrrh-streaming Hawaiian Icons of the Mother of God.

Friday, November 14th
5:00 PM – Panihida in Our Lady of Tikhvin Church (across the road from the cathedral) for reposed hierarchs, clergy, and faithful of the Eastern American Diocese, as well as Metropolitan Hilaron’s spiritual mentors and relatives.

5:30 PM – Procession with the Kursk Root & Hawaiian Icons of the Mother of God from Tikhvin Church to St. Alexander Nevsky Diocesan Cathedral, followed by All-Night Vigil, led by the First Hierarch. Holy Trinity Seminary Choir to sing.

Saturday, November 15th
8:00 AM – Clergy will vest in the lower cathedral hall, after which they will gather in Tikhvin Church to greet the First Hierarch.

9:00 AM – Greeting of the First Hierarch – procession with the Kursk Root & Hawaiian icons of the Mother of God from Tikhvin Church to St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Divine Liturgy.

Upon completion of the Liturgy, a group photo of the clergy will be taken in front of the iconostasis, followed by a festal banquet in Russian House "Rodina" (across the road from the cathedral). All tickets to the banquet have been sold!

6:00 PM – All-Night Vigil in St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

Sunday, November 16th
9:30 AM – Hierarchal Liturgy in St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
