Nyack, NY: Bishop Jerome leads Feast of Prophet Elijah in Holy Protection Church

On Sunday, August 2, the feast of the Holy Prophet Elijah, His Grace, Bishop Jerome, paid an archpastoral visit to Holy Protection Church in Nyack, NY, and celebrated the Divine Liturgy. His Grace was co-served by parish rector Archpriest Ilya Gorsky, parish Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis, and Deacon George Temidis (member of the Diocesan Council). Bishop Jerome delivered two sermons: one in Russian on the fiery chariot of the Prophet Elijah and its meaning for us, and one in English on the words of the Savior, "O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?".

Upon completion of the Liturgy, His Grace congratulated Fr. Ilya on the occasion of his namesday. After the service, a reception was held for the clergy and faithful at Fr. Ilya’s home.
